Dr Spencer Watson received his PhD from Oregon Health & Science University in Portland Oregon, focusing on cancer biology and bioengineering. He then moved to Lausanne Switzerland to study the immune microenvironment of brain cancer, where he pioneered methods in spatial multi-omics to study the role of fibrosis in resistance to immunotherapy treatment. Now at the University of Michigan Ann Arbor, the Watson Lab investigates therapuetically targeting the extracellular matrix environment to improve immunotherapy response in brain cancers.
